Chat & Commands

Zephyr documentation

Contextual Chat

The Zephyr chat assistant understands the email you currently have open. Ask questions like "What are the action items in this email?" or "Draft a polite decline." You can also ask general questions like "Triage my inbox" or "Prep me for my 2pm meeting" without needing a specific email open.

Smart Intent Classification

Zephyr uses a multi-candidate ranked classification system to understand your messages. Instead of committing to a single action, the AI considers multiple possible intents and ranks them by confidence. High-confidence actions execute immediately. Medium-confidence actions show a quick confirmation prompt so you can approve or correct. Low-confidence messages ask you to rephrase. Destructive actions like sending emails or cancelling meetings always require explicit confirmation regardless of confidence. If the AI needs more information (like a missing email address or meeting time), it asks you naturally and remembers what you already said across follow-up messages.

Slash Commands

Type / in the chat input to see all available commands. As you type, the list filters to match. Commands include /draft, /summarize, /translate, /tasks, /triage, /prep, /coach, /track, /support, and many more. Action commands run immediately, while context commands let you add details before sending. Look for the "needs email" badge on commands that require an open email.

Compose Mode

When you are writing a new email or reply, Zephyr switches to compose mode automatically. You get special actions like Draft Coaching (AI feedback on tone, clarity, and structure) and Rewrite (make it shorter, more formal, more casual, or more direct). Use the /coach, /shorter, /formal, and /casual slash commands for quick access. Tap Apply to draft to insert the result directly into your email.
